About Me

Hello! I am an illustrator, writer, and art educator who lives in Austin, Texas, with my family. My work often features characters in natural environments which are inspired by my love for the outdoors and observations of my children at play.

I'm passionate about helping others discover their creativity. In the Spring of 2026, I completed a professional development program focused on teaching art to senior citizens living in low-income nursing homes. For some of these seniors, art never was available to them. For others, artistic expression had been locked away. I was inspired by how these artists showed up every week to explore new techniques and materials with me. This experience deepened my interest in making art accessible to people of all ages and artistic backgrounds.

Before pursuing an intentionally creative path, I earned a Master's degree in Information Studies and worked in product management for over a decade. Today, I bring that curiosity and problem-solving mindset to my creative work, whether I'm developing a new illustration, exploring a story, or helping someone discover the joy of making art.

I'm an active member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and an active volunteer for organizations supporting literacy, the arts, and outdoor conservation.
